Let the class shuffle begin!

The sun is shining brightly and we're finally rid of the rain for a few days. The first time I've seen sun in this country in fact. But, anyways classes have begun... I have not been to all of them yet but in two days time I have had to completely re-work my schedule because the design courses Arcadia had me in were the equivalents of classes I took at home in my first year. A bit frustrating I might add because at no point did they explain this to me. They simply continued to tell me I was in the design block, but not that it was entry level for British first year students. So now I have dropped two of the four design courses (hopefully) and pending approval from the tutors (instructors, professors etc) I will gain to study abroad courses that might actually count for something back at home. With any luck I might knock out my last art history course... crosses fingers. But anyhow, we befriended a few new British people last night and went pub crawling, needless to say it was a good time. I have the rest of today off and might actually take my first nap of the semester. Sure, it's sunny out... but I haven't much interest in moving. I also need to check back in the abroad office to be sure everything is going to plan. One thing I will say for goldsmiths' abroad office, far more helpful than my academic adviser at home. Anyway, that's all for today. Not quite sure what's in store for the rest of today.

A few days in...

It has now been almost a week since my arrival in London and a lot has happened since my last post. I now am situated in my dorm/suite/flat/whatever... I have a room and a small attached bathroom to myself and I share a kitchen with 8-9 other people. I've seen a lot already in a week and start classes Monday morning. My schedule kind of sucks and isn't at all what I was anticipating. But, I am going to give it my best. I guess I just wasn't prepared to be in class most of the week, especially considering class loads at home. I've met a few English people that seem to be a lot of fun, one trough Taryn and another at a wild night in central London at a pub. I expect more will follow once my flatmates move back in for the start of term. The fact that I am awake here is testament to how terrible I've been sleeping. I can't seem to get a sleep schedule down and I find myself exhausted at 10PM local time. Orientation, well both of them went pretty smoothly, I guess I'm just nervous. I haven't seen the sun since I left the states and it is safe to say that's taken a small toll on everything thus far. But, staying optimistic. Will probably update this more frequently as I discovered I was using the wrong email address to sign in. Well, I might try and get some more sleep.

Take Care.

First entry

It's all come down to this. Sitting in Aaron's room waiting for him to finish showering and packing so we can be on our way to Philly International. Our flight is later tonight and It's starting to hit me that today is my last day in the US for six months... it's a bit intense. We're to arrive tomorrow morning in London, we have our first day of orientation and will be in a hotel the first three days on Arcadia's dime before we get to campus. Really anxious, nervous and excited. But that's to be expected. I'll try to update this as often as I can. Until then, later US.
